Overview
A professional quality, flexible primer undercoat for exterior wood with 10 years of proven durability, creating the ideal basecoat for eggshell and gloss finishes. The solvent-based formulation offers superior adhesion to wooden surfaces and allows it to flex with the natural movement of the wood helping to prevent and alleviate flaking and cracking. Sandtex® Trade Flexible Primer Undercoat provides excellent opacity on exterior wood and joinery, including wooden doors and window frames, wooden gates, fences, and exterior timber.

Preparation
Always ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from anything that may affect adhesion.
- Greyed or weathered wood will need to be sanded back to a clean and smooth surface.
- Previously painted surfaces need to be cleaned and sanded to offer a key.
Application
We always recommend performing a test patch to the surface to be decorated to ensure you are happy with the finished results.
- Stir well and apply using a brush or roller.
- Apply evenly and liberally without overspreading.
- If more than one coat is required allow to dry for 16 hours between applications.
Do not apply when temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C or when relative humidity is above 80% during the application or drying period.
